Another abstract form of Art Therapy is the use of shapes.

Again, this is crucial for your experience because you can express your thoughts without thinking, and more than that, you just have to let your pencil flow.

There are various techniques which will be discussed in the course of the following weeks.

In this week consider geometric abstraction or concrete art. It is the use of geometrical shapes such as squares, circles, triangles, etc. It has no reference to the natural world, so it is the purest form of abstraction.

This type of expression is absolutely free, you just have to rely on shapes you already know. Don’t think of how things look, create your own objects with basic shapes.

Create your own compositions using only your feelings. As always analyse later and enjoy!

What kind of shapes do you like? Do you prefer right angles? The use of corners?
